Happiest Place on Earth Part 1
A Disney World trip with my bitches finally happened! I think it's been a good 9 years since I've been to Disney World. I was beyond excited since I was still high on Disney (lol) from going to Cali last year. Disneyland was a fun experience because it has always been on my bucket list and I was dying to see Sleeping Beauty's castle finally, but Disney World will always be my first love.
We left late on Monday night and my airport experience was good. Quick and easy. I was most excited to use my new R2-D2 carry-on. Surprisingly, it was able to hold all my shit for this four day vacation. I was even able to bring my blow dryer, flat iron AND curling wand. We took Disney's Magical Express to the Caribbean Beach Resort when we got to Orlando. The resort was okay... nothing that special to me. The rooms look outdated so I guess if you had the Pirate room it would look more "exciting." They do seem to have a nice pool and a lake with a beach, but we never went swimming nor did we spend that much time at the resort. It was also a huge place... there were bus stops within the place. We stayed in Barbados, which was so far from the cafe. This reminds me of the stupid cup refills. The first night we got completely lost. We couldn't tell which building was ours because they all looked the same. We were walking around like idiots looking for our room. lmao. To be honest, I think I stayed there on my very first Disney trip when I was four. I have a photo album of my trip, and the colors look very similar from the pictures. Nostalgia.
Day 1 - Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure
We managed to get up bright and early for Universal despite the lack of sleep due to our flight getting in so late. Getting to and from Universal was quite easy using Uber. We started off in Diagon Alley in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction, which is located in the original park. There we got to see the Knight Bus, King's Cross Station, Knockturn Alley, and explore Diagon Alley. We went on the Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts ride, which was fun. I also bought my Voldemort wand from the Ollivanders shop there. After, we decided to take the Hogswart Express to Islands of Adventure to the Hogsmeade portion of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The train is so legit too. It was like I was on the real thing. Once we made it over, we ate lunch at the Three Broomsticks where I got to try frozen butter beer for the first time. It was just okay to me. Too sweet for me to drink the whole thing. We went on a few rides there, and I got to see the castle. While I was there, I decided to buy a chocolate frog and Bert's Botts Every Flavor Beans for Miguel and I to share. Well, my original evil plan was to make Miguel eat the jelly beans to see if they are really nasty. Haha! I'm new to the Harry Potter fandom, but being there was so magical. This was the part of Universal that I was most excited for since I've experienced most of Universal already from being there several times throughout my life. The last time I was at Universal none of this existed, which is crazy.
After Potter land, we walked around the rest of the two parks. We went on more rides like Spider-man, Transformers, Revenge of the Mummy, E.T. and Men in Black. I can't believe E.T. is still there. I miss all the old attractions like Nickelodeon, Jaws, King Kong, Back to the Future and Ghostbusters. I don't know why, but outside of Potter land, Universal seemed a little boring. It seems like there are less rides now. They did put in this new roller coaster called Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, which looks scary as hell. Fuck no, I did not go on it. This reminds me... sadly, the Hulk coaster was out of commission. You could see part of the track missing, which was disturbing.
At night we ventured off to Downtown Disney, which is apparently "Disney Springs." However, I refuse to call it that lol. We ended the night by getting dinner at an italian restaurant and shopping a little.
Day 2 - Magic Kingdom
Since I haven't been to Disney World in so long, this was my first time using a Magicband. I found it so fascinating. I used my Magicband to enter the park, get on fastpass rides, and conveniently buy things without stumbling for your wallet.
I think we spent a good 12 hours in Magic Kingdom this day, which was good because we pretty much made it on all the rides. We used our three fast passes for the longer waits, but the lines for most rides were short. I think the most we waited was 30 minutes for a ride. Even the wait for Splash Mountain was only about 10 minutes despite Chinh's dismay lol. I hate Splash Mountain. I forgot what that ride was like, but it gave me so much anxiety with all it's false drops. It took so long to get to the final plunge! T_T
My favorites are still the same: Mad Tea Party (spinning tea cups), The Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain. A new favorite of mine is the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which seems to be fairly new. I would say it even rivals Space Mountain. I'm still mad at how terrible Stitch's ride is. We didn't go on because I said it sucks, but go on yelp if you don't believe me....
For lunch, we went to Be Our Guest, which was a fun and exciting experience for me because this restaurant wasn't there the last time I was in Disney World. The wait was about 20-30 minutes, which didn't feel that long to me. We ordered our food, and easily found a table in "The West Wing." This room looked perfect with its dim lighting and shredded decor along with the thunder and lightning resonating throughout the room. Here, you get to see The Enchanted Rose, which I loved. I ordered the Croque Monsieur, which basically is a fancy grilled ham and cheese sandwich with fries. For desert, I had the "Grey Stuff" which every Disney blog had prompted me to order. It was delicious! It's basically a chocolate cupcake with a cookies 'n'cream type mousse on top. After lunch, we explored the other two dining rooms. The Ballroom was beautiful! Overall, I had a great dining experience and would love to experience it during dinner.

At night, we got to see both the Electrical Parade and the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular. I love the light show they do with Cinderella's Castle before the fireworks begin. It made me emotional to watch. Disney turns you into a kid all over again.
For dinner, we got to dine at Cinderella's Royal Table. We were lucky enough to score a reservation for our trip at 11 pm. A very late reservation, but a reservation nonetheless. I cannot remember what I ate, I just know that I enjoyed my dinner after a very long day in the park. We met all the classic princesses, except for Belle who probably comes out during dinner at Be Our Guest. It was pretty cool to see the park quiet and empty after we left our dinner. I didn't even know it was possible to stay that late at Magic Kingdom.
Stay tune... Part 2 conquers day three and four of our trip!
