Now My Life is Sweet Like Cinnamon...
I have exciting news... I HAVE AN OFFICIAL JOB!
I got the job offer yesterday, and of course, I accepted. It is official now. My start date is suppose to be July 13th. I have to get all my paperwork situated and I have to do a drug test. I'm hoping everything goes smoothly and I can really start on the 13th like planned.
I am so happy to finally get real health insurance. My current insurance sucks more than you know. I also get life insurance, along with a proper 401K and retirement plan. Gratis for the company store kicks in July 1st, and so thankfully I get to see that benefit. I'm so excited to be able to buy whatever I want now. I will try to keep beauty purchases with Estee Lauder now in the future. I don't get crazy anymore with makeup and skincare anyway. I wanted the new Too Faced blushes a week ago, but I think I can pass. My salary was higher than I thought they'd give me so that's nice. Bonus opportunities happen in September, but I don't know if I'm eligible yet.
I get six vacation days for this half of the year. I already know two will go to NYCC. The rest I'm not sure what I'll do with. I don't know if carries over to the next year if you don't use it or not, but I'll ask. It seems I will have to choose wisely. I will get about two weeks of vacation once January rolls around, but it doesn't seem like a lot when you start planning vacations. I also will get the benefit of taking off five Fridays in the summer now. I don't know if I can get all five days off this current summer, but it is one of the benefits of working here. It is actually my motivation to start driving by December this year. I can't really benefit from summer Fridays and leave at 4:00 like everyone else does if I can't drive. Right now, I stay until 5:00. I'm not looking forward to driving though. I'll have to pay for all the maintenance if I get a car.
Now, I have to tackle and tame the two things that take all my money: cosplay and BlackMilk. I was thinking of building a budget and sticking to it for the rest of the year in terms of cosplay. All we have is NYCC and Wintercon. I will just repeat costumes for Wintercon or make a Poison Ivy costume that will not cost much. I went overboard this year now that I'm looking back. It was unnecessary and I am still recovering from it. It's one of those moments you want to kick yourself. I thinking of just going to NYCC next year lol. Maybe that is the only way to tame the beast.
I told myself no more BlackMilk purchases until the Halloween collection. When I get my first real paycheck at the end of the month, I plan on clearing most of my PayPal Credit. So, if I want something from that collection I'll put it on credit. I've been building my credit for a year or so and my credit score keeps improving, which is good since I am just starting out. I don't really shop much outside of that or go to the mall. I notice I buy basic shit when I go to the mall now lol. I did buy my Barbie bodysuit off eBay and Poprageous crop tops, which were not needed. So, I am on a no spend ban now for the month of July. I have my budget set up on Mint, and I am hoarding my money to adjust to the new payment schedule. Wish me luck. My last purchases were.... backpacks. T_T I feel like I'm five years old. I could of found a nicer bag for the $80 I spent. These damn bags with wings... I bought the white one because I wanted more wing colors and options. I'm done.

I'm worried about my Daenerys costume. I feel like I should get this commissioned before August, but I'm not comfortable shelling out the money next month for it. I don't know if buying everything I need in August is a good idea. I didn't realize how close NYCC really was until I thought about commissions. I'm also beyond frustrated with Artifice. I don't know where my Wednesday costume that was supposedly shipped out 3 WEEKS AGO is. My Alice costume isn't done. I wanted to order my Captain America corset from them but now, I can't even trust them to make that. Where am I gonna get this corset now??? I don't want pay more than $100 for one. The shield is already the most expensive part of the costume. Cosplay problems...
I'm glad everything is dying down because traveling expenses have been killing my back account. Fucking MTA takes all my money. I haven't had a break since AC. Every weekend has been nonstop activity, and mostly involving the city. We decided not to go to Eternal Con because it wasn't really worth it. Everyone was at AnimeNext, and Jason was out of commission with pink eye. My costume didn't even come. At that point, I was thinking of doing Wonder Woman. I think we had more fun barbecuing and stuffing our faces. It was nice to relax for once, and not wake up early to put on my face and a wig. We saw Jurassic World at night after the BBQ, which I was really excited for. It was actually pretty good, and Chris Pratt is hotttt. The theater was packed for this... I guess, it's nostalgic for everyone. Jurassic Park is a classic. In this movie though, I felt like they really went for it in terms of killing people lol. I don't remember it being like that in the originals. It made me want a raptor though. Jaycee still won't get me a dragon or a direwolf though. He insists it's not possible. Pffffff...
We shot with a new photographer Odin's Iris this past weekend because Felipe didn't have his merchandise in yet. He took photos of us at Special Edition, but I couldn't remember him for the life of me. He's a really sweet guy and easy to work with. We shoot at the Bushwick Collective in Brooklyn were all the street artwork is, which was cool. I received some awesome photos back, and that's all you really need. I look forward to working with him again. Afterwards, we went to visit Felipe. He packed up a shit ton of treats for me and Chinh to take back to Long Island along with coconut mango ice cream sandwiches. We looked like we robbed Payard.
I also got my photos back from Ron when we shot in May. OMG. I love them so much. Ron is magic! He gave me back 80 edited photos. This boudoir shoot came out better than the last one. It could be because this was one on one. This is my favorite shoot of the year so far. My ass looks bomb in these. It's funny because I didn't like they way my ass looked in Jason's boudoir session. Maybe it was what I was wearing.
We have more shoots planned in July, which I'm looking forward to doing. Other than that, I think July will be about saving money and relaxing... and being stressed about NYCC.
