- I finally stepped foot into Galaxy’s Edge. I watched too many videos on YouTube for there to be anything left to the imagination. Still, the Millennium Falcon was stunning. I think I stood there for a good 10 minutes in awe. I actually enjoyed Smuggler’s Run too. The wait time was only 35 minutes, but I suspect it was less because the line seemed to move fast. Once we were nearing the front of the line, Miguel asked a cast member how we could go about acquiring pilot positions. She said we can simple ask to be pilots if we wished. Miguel: “What?! YouTube lied me to me? LOL. So essentially, Miguel was Han and I was Chewie flying the Millennium Falcon. Speaking of Chewie, as I was expressing the inner depths of my sadness in not seeing him in the park all day, we turned the corner to see my favorite Wookie trying to fix an X-Wing amid great frustration. I JUST LOVE HIM. I also got to see Kylo Ren choke out a lieutenant before boarding the TIE Echelon. So, there’s that.
- I wish Alice in Wonderland was a ride in Disney World.
- Haunted Mansion Holiday is still as magical as ever. I wish I was to able to go on it multiple times like I originally wanted to.
- I loved that they changed Space Mountain to Hyperspace Mountain. I think the Star Wars overlay makes it more fun. Also, the ride is so much smoother than Space Mountain in Orlando.
- “It’s a Small World” is so much better than the one in Orlando. There’s a Disney character in almost every scene. I forced Miguel to go on it because I wanted to see Lilo and Stitch. LOL.
- Still skipped Jungle Cruise, even though the wait time was only 10 minutes. I saw that Disney is coming out with a movie based on the ride starring The Rock. I feel like movies based on popular Disney rides are hit or miss. I loved Pirates of the Caribbean, but I really disliked The Haunted Mansion. I wish they would remake it and give the film a second try because my favorite Disney ride really deserves better.
- We went on the Mad Tea Party twice after we discovered Alice and the Mad Hatter were riding the tea cups with guests. Miguel suspected that Alice wasn’t going to ride with us because we were not kids. LOL. It still was so cute to see Alice in the Mad Tea Party area. She also waved at me, which I fangirled at. lmao.
- I’ll never understand why the Matterhorn always has such a long wait time because the ride is so bumpy and uncomfortable. Once Miguel got off the ride, he said never again. LOL. I only did so he could say he rode it once.
- I love Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride lol. I’m glad Miguel got to experience it finally.
- Again, I think Pirates of the Caribbean is better in Disneyland. The small drops were fun.
- Finally, I went on Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin... even though Miguel insisted it no longer existed.
- I survived the Incredicoaster, but I still refuse to go on the Guardians of the Galaxy.
- My favorite ride at DCA was Radiator Springs Racers. Now, I understand why the wait times are so long. It was definitely worth the fastpass I held onto all day lol. It reminds me that I still need to watch Cars.
- I am so so so happy that I was in Disneyland to see the Main Street Electrical Parade before it’s closing date. It was probably my favorite parade of the entire trip.
- I was able to snag both the Oogie Boogie and Jack Skellington cake pops along with a Oogie Boogie Krispy treat. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the poison apple cake pop while I was there.
Regrets:
- I totally forgot to get the Minnie Witch and Mickey Vampire ice cream bars at Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream in DCA!
- I never made it to the Grand Californian Hotel to see the giant Oogie Boogie cake and get Halloween donuts.
- I forgot the 50th anniversary wedding cake for The Haunted Mansion! This trip was just me forgetting food I wanted to eat...
Disappointments:
- I wish the Disneyland park was more decked out in Halloween decorations. It wasn’t enough for me LOL.
- Halloween Screams wasn’t as magical as Magic Kingdom’s Halloween show. I was also very disappointed that Disneyland only does fireworks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If I had known that, I would’ve booked the Oogie Boogie Bash on Tuesday.
- I really wish Disney had better food options in the parks. Quick services seem to only have really unhealthy food, and it always makes me feel blah. I just want some grilled chicken and vegetables to get me through the day. I don’t think we had an actual decent meal until we went to Disney World.
- This has nothing to do with Disneyland, but In-N-Out Burger is still gross the second time around, even without getting it animal style (which is disgusting). The burger is just not as good as Shake Shack. I could literally get the same food, if not better, at Burger King. It’s nothing special. Also, the fries taste like stale garbage. It was one of the most unsatisfying meals I had the whole trip. I don’t understand how Californians live like this. I’m sorry to share such negativity with you, but I had to get it off my chest.
