Atlantic City Boardwalk Con
ACBC was a success! I was both sad and relieved the weekend was over. I was sad mostly because I love cosplaying with my girls, especially when it's a coordinated group cosplay. I was relieved because I didn't have to worry about this Thor costume any longer. I put too much pressure on myself for this weekend. I just had to have three new cosplays to showcase... well, one was an upgraded costume lol.
On Thursday night, I got my nails done before racing home to shower and finish packing. I managed to stuff my whole life into my suitcase, but I still had two hammers and a helmet to carry along with me. T_T I also had to carry my Thor costume pieces separately so the craft foam didn't get squished. We were originally on our way at round 9:30pm, when I realized I forgot to pack my hair extensions! I would been so pissed Saturday realizing I wouldn't have glorious hair for the shoots that day. Let's be real, my hair is super thin and the extensions look better in photos. Finally, we were on the road before 10pm and on our way to get Christine.
We reached AC around 2 in the morning. AC looked a lot nicer than I remember it to be the last time I was there. The Sheridan was conveniently right across the street from the convention center and around all the outlets. We checked in, parked the car and proceeded to McDonalds naturally. I did stuff my face with Boston Market in 10 minutes before leaving AC, but I somehow managed a kids meal. We finally crashed at around 4 am. Ironically, I only got a good 4 hours of sleep and woke up an hour and a half before my alarm was set to go off. I guess, it was the new setting?
I swear to you, we spend like 5 minutes in the actually convention on Friday. We walked in, and made our way to meet with Jason who said he was by the Marvel stage. On our way, we saw Negative Stacey and met Kit Candela who was cosplaying as the new Suicide Squad Harley. We naturally had to take pictures with her because we were all Harleys. We met Brian Maze (Maze Studio) who took some awesome pictures of us from what I've seen so far.
We finally found Jason, and proceeded to the garage to shoot with Chinh's Camaro. We were setting up when the old secruity guard came up to us, and said we needed permission. We hung out for a little while Jason, who is always upstanding, called and tried to get the official go ahead. Finally, he managed to get an official name and just said that they had given us permission to shoot. It was funny because other security guy was a lot nicer and was all for the shoot lol. He was probably like, "man, why you trying to mess with their shoot?"
Shooting with the car was fun, and we all got great shots. I particulary love Christine's shots of the Joker in the car. She pulls it off so well. Christine is pro at the creepy and awkward poses. It's funny because we both cosplayed the Joker that weekend, but our visions are completely different from each other when you compare.
After we shot in the garage, we headed back into the convention center with Jason. We went upstairs up to the fourth floor. It was quiet and isolated from the convention floor activity. We did more shots with Jason since he wanted to utilize the different color lights. I love the effect it gives off in photos. We followed Jason over to the geek fashion show where we saw some questionable stuff, but Castle Corsetry really killed it. I love for her to make my Mileena costume. I just don't know if she'd have the time.
By the time the fashion show was over, it was time to go. We basically went back to the room to change, and get ready for dinner. We found a pho restaurant and decided we were too lazy to do anything else, which was good because it allowed me time to shower and get ready for Saturday's shenanigans.

On Saturday, we woke up early to get ready for our boudoir shoot with Jason that we had planned. This was Jason's first boudoir shoot, so we were basically his test subjects lol. After, we proceeded to get ready for the con since it was around 1pm by the time we finished shooting with Jason.
We were again on the con floor for 5 minutes. We met Ron and a few other photographers that we never shot with before. After, we met up with the Cosbaes to take groups pictures and FaceTime with Jaycee since that jerk wasn't there. We made our way back to Jason so everyone could shoot with him. It was basically our time to hang out with everyone and chill. After the con, we stuffed our faces at Harrah's buffet naturally. We were also lazy that night as well. Chinh and Christine tried to go to the pool, but there were a bunch of weirdos.
Sunday was a really short day. We got ready for the con and packed up. When I started to pack everything up, I realized the cleaning people threw out my Thor and Harley Quinn bags! How they mistaken them for garbage I will never know. They also throw out the bubble wrap I had for my helmet and hammer along with the tissue paper I needed to wrap my Harley costume back in. T_T The hotel took money off our bill and gave me this ugly yellow bag to put my helmet in. Great. I want my Thor bag that I loved back. Idiots.
My Joker came out much better this time around. I call it Joker 2.0. We walked around the con, but there wasn't anything I wanted to buy. We decided to just go find Jason to shot and then leave for the trip back. We sat in on Ashley's shoot and she had me dying the whole time because she was trying to pose as a guy.
Overall, the con was ok for its first year. I wouldn't mind going back because it's a getaway with the girls and its conveniently located across the street from a hotel. Maybe, next time we'll explore AC more. I also got some awesome photos of my cosplays at this con. Big Apple sucked since I have no photos from that con. I don't know why I went. CPAC was alright in terms of photos.
As for my cosplays, I'm happy how they turned out. Harley can use some perfecting, but it was decent for my first time cosplaying her. I have to figure out the hair. I don't know what to do for SE because I don't want to wear the white face paint and mask if is hot and humid out. Maybe I'll just do regular makeup and break the rules since I don't care that much about this con. Plus, I don't want to look like a weirdo at dinner lol.
I'm not 100% happy with Thor, but I think the helmet and hammer make up for it. It started falling apart when we when to shoot with Jason, but it hung in there with some minor repairs. My finger tips were silver at the end of the day and I had marks of silver from the bra. I guess, I didn't seal it good enough. At least, this costume is done and out of the way.
I was super happy with the upgrades to my Joker costume. My new wig looked of better quality. I also like the corset better than the vest I had. The new gloves and tights were an added bonus. Plus, everyone seemed to like my cheap bang gun too.
Next up, Special Edition and Eternal Con.
