The Pint Shop
The Pint Shop in my opinion was very underwhelming. The space was smaller than it seemed in pictures, so obviously it got pretty crowded on a Saturday. Aside from the cute plushies and the sprinkles umbrella, the merchandise wasn't that cute and was probably overpriced. They had three pint installations for photo ops, which were disappointing too. When Chinh and Christine went the first time, the Nana Banana pint had cute paper-like bananas all arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner. When I got there, they had changed it to cheap looking plastic bananas just hanging about. The Sprinkle Pool pint had a swing, which was cute with the floor made to look like you were sitting above a pool of sprinkles. But, alas, no real sprinkle pool. They did have a pool of cherries for their Cherrylicious pint. HOWEVER, there were barely any cherries left in the pool and they were all crushed from being stepped on constantly. Christine has a photo of herself buried in a FULL pool of cherries. Wtf. Did they not foresee this happening? Why hasn't the pool been filled back up? Needless to say, I wasn't able to experience any pool of sorts.
The taste test was not worth the $37 I paid. The session was short, and the pink lab coats could have been cuter. They mainly talked about the basic bitch of all flavors... vanilla. Vanilla is my least favorite flavor of all time so it doesn't excite me lol. I'll only eat Vanilla if it is paired with chocolate. All in all, I know that's just my personal preference. To be honest though, their flavors were pretty lackluster in my eyes. With the exception of Nana Banana and Churro Churro, the flavors weren't that original. I would have imagined more whimsical flavors from them. The taste test was basically a skip the line ticket, but even then, it wouldn't have been worth it to wait on a line. I honestly could have skipped this experience altogether.
I feel like their lack of maintenance was out of pure laziness. It's as if they made sure the Pint Shop was in tiptop shape for premiere night so that social media bloggers and influencers would rave about it. Now, they couldn't be bothered to even keep the shop in decent shape. I feel like I've been done dirty. As if it wasn't enough that when they returned to NYC, they didn't bring the full Museum of Ice Cream experience with them, but they went ahead and made The Pint Shop the most underwhelming experience for me. Do I truly need to rtavel to another city to get the full effect? The only thing that made it fun was that I was with amazing people who make me smile and laugh 100% og the time. I know this sounds dramatic, but I just wish I could have gotten a good experience out of it While I got some cute photos, there were some things that could have been improved upon. I get that The Pint Shop was a free experience and was not suppose to be a full museum, but I would think they would want to uphold their reputation by maintaining the place.
I'm hoping Candytopia will not be disappointing, and that there will be a pool of marshmallows. I don't know why, but I just really love marshmallows lol.
