Central Park Cosplay & NY Winter Con
The cosplay meetup in Central Park was a success. Despite me freezing my fucking ass off, I think I got some great shots in with Jaycee and saw some other great shots from various photographers.
The Cosbaes are going as DC Bombshells at Winter Con. Me, Christine and maybe Chinh will be joining in on the fun. The fact that we are joining forces made up my mind for Winter Con. I think DC Bombshells as a group is fun.
I decided to go with Wonder Woman since it is some what easy to put together. I did do research on Harley Quinn's verison , but I got frustrating within 10 minutes of looking for a bomber jacket. Plus, you have to figure out how to get the logo on the back for that one. It's like trying to find the right brown leather jacket for my Rogue cosplay. Frustrating. I'm also being fat as fuck right now because I don't have NYCC or a wedding to look skinny for and plus, the holidays are arriving with delicious food to stuff my face with. I feel like I'd look pudgy as Harley right now. lmao. Weirdly enough though, I weighed myself in the beginning of day this past Saturday at 100 lbs, and proceeded to have McDonald's for dinner (10 pc nuggets, fries & mozzarella sticks). I weighted myself again on Sunday, and I was miraculously at 98 lbs. God works in mysterious ways...
My list for Wonder Woman is almost complete...
Wig
Headband/scarf
Components for shirt
High-waisted shorts
Stars
Belt Buckle
Boots
Silver cuffs
Earrings?
The wig was expensive, but I don't have a black one with bangs. I bought from the same seller on etsy, and have already received it. Luckily, I was able to find the headband and belt buckle on etsy for reasonable prices. I hope the belt buckle ships already. I bought a variation of high-waisted shorts from F21. It only came out to $40 though since shorts seem to be on sale this time of year. I can probably use the shorts for other cosplays or photoshoots. I bought one pair in two different sizes because I really don't know what would fit better, a XS or just a S. I'll just have to glue the stars to the pants, and I should be good. I found red slouchy type boots on Amazon for like $30. I have to figure out how to design them the way WW has them. Worst comes to worst, I just leave them red.
The shirt is driving me insane. I bought a red collared pinup type blouse. I couldn't find for the life of me a red button up shirt with a white collar and white cuffs. I think I'm going to have to buy a white blouse to use for swiping out the collar and cuffs. I noticed on the girls who have cosplayed this version of WW that they had a zipper going down. I tried looking up for a red blouse that zipped up like that and I had no success. More like super frustration
Once the shirt is done, I have to figure out how to get the W on. I was wondering if I can just glue ribbon or fabric trim on the shirt in the W formation. No sewing required. I contemplating the silver cuffs. I don't even know why her cuffs are silver on this outfit when everything else is gold. At least, I have the rope... just have to some how attach it to my shorts. Ugh, stresss....
