IMATS NY!

Finally, I got to cross something off my bucket list this weekend and attended IMATS in NYC yesterday. It was crazy maddness!

We stayed in NYC Friday night at our friend Rob's apartment since it is a long trek from Long Island and the convention started at 8:30am. We basically ate at an italian restaurant and then ate ice cream as we watched David Tutera on Netflix bitching about the "Goth Bride" episode. "This is why no one likes goths."

We took over Rob's apartment as we were preparing for IMATS. We told him it would be even worse for NYCC in October. He told us he would just give us the apartment that weekend and hide in Brooklyn. Hahaha. Poor Rob. We bribe him with alcohol though so it's okay.

We ended up taking a cab over to Pier 94 from the Upper East Side. It didn't take long and we made it there at exactly 8:30. The fare was only $13 too. We still had to wait online for an hour to get into the building. They make you print out your ticket and then exchange it for a wristband once you are inside. I wish it was more organized like Comic Con, and they mailed you passes that allow you to just walk in whenever you like.

We split up and I went to wait on line for Lime Crime. As I passed by, I saw the Sigma line even though the booth for the brand was all the way in the back of the building. That was quite alarming. However, the line for the Lime Crime booth was even worse. To my dismay, the end of the line was outside! I waited for about an half hour before I made it back into the building. The line outside though was getting longer and longer. I decided to stick it out and just wait. No turning back now!

I finally make it up to the booth and guess what? THEY DIDN'T HAVE THEIR VELVETINE IN RED VELVET. Of course, the one thing I was interested in. The total came to $85 for four lipsticks and one Velvetine. The only lipstick that was for myself was Centrifushia, which I tried on today and I really like the color. I was disappointed in the fact that Lime Crime really didn't discount their products that much at IMATS. Of course, you don't have to pay for shipping and you can get the lipsticks right there, but was it really worth standing on line for two hours? No, not at all.

We explored the rest of IMATS, and surprisingly I wasn't interested in buying anything else. I am proud of myself because I actually spent way less then $150. I only walked away with one Lime Crime lipstick. I didn't get anything from Sigma because I didn't want to wait online. Now, I wish I had waited on line for Sigma and not Lime Crime. Sigma was 30% off and I probably could of gotten the blending brush set that I have been waiting for a year.

The ultimate highlight of my day was meeting Jeffree Star. I was sooooooo nervous. He was super cool and really nice. Jeffree even took selfies with his fans. I absolutely adore him!

We also took pictures with Doe Deere of Lime Crime and Audrey Kitching at the Lime Crime Booth. Not that I really cared to take a picture with Doe because I am #TeamJeffree, but she was nice to her fans in person despite all the crazy accusations lol.

Sadly though, we didn't know that was Audrey Kitching haha. I swear to you as we stood there waiting for Doe, I was debating with myself on whether or not it was Audrey. This was the dialogue in my head:

"Is that Audrey Kitching?"
"It kinda looks like her. No, no it's not her."
"But, wait I think it is her."
"I thought I saw on instagam that she was going to be at the Lime Crime booth."
"No, that can't be her."

I don't know why, but she looks so different in person. There is just something different about her now.

Everyone is complaining about not receiving their orders, but yet the brand is at IMATS selling their products. I mean, I get it. Lime Crime is struggling to get out their orders and it is not fair to their customers. Not to defend Lime Crime or anything, but IMATS is a HUGE deal for a small makeup brand. Of course, they are going to concentrate on having stock for IMATS over promptly sending out their online orders. It's IMATS.

All in all, I left IMATS happy. We walked all the way from Pier 94 to 44th & 8th for Shake Shack. It was my exercise for the day and the weather was beautiful this weekend thankfully. Shakeburger, chocolate shake and cheese fries.... that is was deliciousness tastes like. We stopped by Sephora as we were walking back to the apartment to recuperate before the journey back home. I bought Too Faced's new Melted lipstick in Melted Peony. I hope it looks nice on me, but we will see.

That is bascially all the makeup I got this weekend... two lipsticks. You all should be very proud of me haha.
