Cosplay Update

My Harley hammer is here!!!

I love it so much. This is exactly how I wanted it. It looks high quality. It's sturdy and durable, but lightweight. The paint job is beautiful as well. My favorite is the Joker imprinted on the hammer. I love that it's the Joker of the animated series too.

My costume is almost complete. I've received everything else in the mail - latex gloves, mask, spirit gum, makeup, etc. I just need to pick out shoes and do squats lol. Also, if Jaycee can get me some Hyenas that would definitely complete the look. I do have to figure out what products I will need for the latex gloves though.....

Thor... well, nothing has really been done for this costume. I was lazy as shit on Easter weekend and this past Sunday. I counted, and I have four weekends to get this costume complete. My to-do list:

• Cut out craft foam pieces for chestpiece, belt and gauntlets
• Figure out if you want to use a bra or make chestpiece from scratch
• Spray paint craft foam with sealer and spray paint (use black as well for shading effect)
• Assemble chestpiece
• Assemble belt
• Assemble gauntlets
• Figure out how to attach cape to bra/chestpiece
• Figure out how to attach the rest the chestpiece to high-waisted shorts
• Figure out if hammer needs to be spray painted
• Figure out if hairpieces need to be made

I still don't know what my third costume will be. I was thinking I might be Black Canary if I can find the black bodysuit. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find one by the way. Everything I like is either sold out or not in my size. Any cosplay piece that is really simple and basic turns out to be the most complicated item to find. Anyway, I was originally just going to do Poison Ivy because I thought we were going to redo Gotham City Sirens. Turns out, we going to do two slutty Harleys and a pimp Joker on Friday. Originally, Chinh was going to be slutty batman and we were going to be Harleys on seperates days, but this pimp Joker concept sounds hilarious. We almost made a whole weekend of coehesive cosplays. I guess, Sunday might be random for us.

I'm wondering if I should go to Sakura Matsuri at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. I don't know if I can even get there by public transportation, so it is just a thought for now. Jaycee suggested I go, and I said I would love to shoot one of my BlackMilk dresses there. Now, I'm wondering if I should do Poison Ivy if I can go. I had bought a flower garland and headpiece for this costume in case for AC. I was kinda already a spring Poison Ivy at Big Apple Con, but I was going to play on that and incorporate the green tights I bought long ago. My red wig that I ordered two months has FINALLY shipped out. I was about to bitch out the etsy shop, even though I really didn't want to since I've bought my other wigs with no problem from this seller. I like this wig shop on etsy, it has a huge variety. I noticed they put back the green wig I wanted in there shop right after I had bought the other wig. T_T

We've also decided to go to this Beach bash/cosplay party thing the first weekend of May. We're on the guestlist apparently because Jaycee likes to manage appearances for us when he's drunk and not tell us. I really have no excuse not to go because it's on a Saturday during the day. I figured I should take advantage of the 47 BlackMilk swimsuits I own (not really 47 but...) since they are all cosplay related. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, R2D2, Daenerys... Ironically, I am settling on my Darth Vader bodysuit which is not from BlackMilk. I have the lightlaber, and now all I need is the cloak. I know, my hair is going to look like shit that weekend because I have to wait until the 8th for AC to get my hair done again. The cloak will mask it I hope lol.

I bought some more accessories for my Joker costume as well when I was ordering the flower accessories for Poison Ivy. I found playing cards and a bang gun. It's cheap and shitty, but I thought I'd take the chance any way. I'm gonna have to figure out how to make one. I don't need the flag to spring out. I just want it for pictures. I bought new tights and gloves to try out on eBay too. I finally settled on a wig. I like the straight wigs because you can brush them without any issues. I bought the wig at Dolluxe for $30, and shipping was super fast. I may order from them again if I need another wig.

I'm up in the air again about SE. If Jaycee doesn't get to see my Harley at AC, I may wear it again at SE. I would be saving money. I don't know if I really need the black corset I plan on buying form Artifice because I don't know when we are doing Disney Villains, which is slightly annoying. This black wig though makes me want to buy a Jade costume. I can't make up my mind... T_T
